Ideal Home has highlighted three appliances that offer both heating and cooling for homes facing chilly mornings and warm afternoons. Its recommendations are the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1, Duux Threesixty2 and Dreo Smart Whole Room Heater 714S; the article also reports discounts on the Dyson during Amazon’s Big Deal Days.
Ideal Home has recommended three heating-and-cooling appliances for homes where temperatures shift from chilly mornings to warm afternoons, offering an alternative to keeping separate fans and heaters on hand. The list includes the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1, Duux Threesixty2 and Dreo Smart Whole Room Heater 714S, with the report citing testing experience for its product assessments.
The Ideal Home report describes the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 as a three-in-one appliance that heats, cools and purifies air. The publication says it was impressed by the model’s 10 heating and cooling settings during testing. It also reports that Amazon and Dyson had each reduced the product’s recommended retail price by £100 as part of Amazon’s Big Deal Days sale. The source does not state the final sale price.
For a smaller option, the report points to the Duux Threesixty2, which it characterizes primarily as a heater. It has two ventilation settings and 360-degree air distribution, according to the article, which says the appliance can be used to circulate air or warm a room. The report does not provide a price or specific test measurements for this model.
The third recommendation, the Dreo Smart Whole Room Heater 714S, is described as portable, with a carry handle and three heat settings as well as three fan settings. Ideal Home says those modes performed well in its testing. Its account presents the Dreo as a model intended to function as a heater and fan, but gives no comparative performance figures or current price.
One Appliance for Shifting Temperatures
The recommendations address a practical seasonal problem: a home may need heating early and late in the day, while a fan is more useful during a warmer afternoon. A dual-purpose unit could reduce the need to store or position separate seasonal appliances, a benefit the report highlights for people who prefer to keep their living space uncluttered.
The products are not described as interchangeable, however. The Dyson combines heating, cooling and air purification, while the Duux is framed mainly as a heater with ventilation modes and the Dreo as a portable heater-fan. Buyers therefore need to weigh features, room needs and price, rather than treating the “two-in-one” label as proof that every model cools as effectively as a dedicated fan. The source offers no independent side-by-side performance data.

Why Autumn Calls for Both Modes
The article is framed around October weather that can be cold in the morning, hot by lunchtime and cooler again after sunset. In those conditions, the writer says it can be difficult to decide whether to keep a fan available, bring out a heater or use central heating. The report says the weather may not feel cold enough to justify switching on central heating throughout the day.
Ideal Home cautions that a fan mode is not necessarily equivalent to a standalone fan: it says that, in the writer’s experience, fan-only settings on many fan heaters are less effective than dedicated fans. The article presents the three named products as exceptions it considers capable of providing useful heating and cooling, while identifying the Dyson as a model it tested and the Dreo as a product whose heat and fan settings impressed its testers.
““It’s really chilly first thing in the morning, roasting hot by lunchtime, with temperatures plummeting again when the sun goes down.””

Prices and Cooling Performance Vary
The report does not provide the final discounted Dyson price, the duration of the Big Deal Days offer or confirmation that the discount remains available. It also does not include prices for the Duux or Dreo, so readers cannot use the article alone to compare the models’ current costs.
Specific performance details remain limited. The source gives no room sizes, energy-use figures, noise measurements or numerical comparisons with standalone fans. It also does not explain how the Dyson’s purification function was measured. The product assessments and descriptions should therefore be understood as Ideal Home’s editorial findings, not as a complete independent comparison of all three appliances.

Check Current Offers and Model Details
Readers considering a purchase can check the retailer and manufacturer listings for current prices, availability and product specifications, since the reported Big Deal Days promotion may have ended or changed. They may also want to compare the appliances’ stated heating and ventilation modes with the needs of the rooms where they would be used.
Ideal Home’s article provides no announced follow-up testing or later update. The next relevant development for shoppers is whether the reported Dyson discount is still available and how the three models compare on price and performance using up-to-date product information.
