Ideal Home has highlighted IKEA’s £22 VINTERFINT chandelier as a festive decorating option. The red steel fitting holds up to eight candles; IKEA says it is easy to wipe clean and store, while open-flame use requires care.

Ideal Home has highlighted IKEA’s £22 VINTERFINT chandelier as an affordable option for Christmas decorating. The red steel fitting is designed to hold eight candles, offering a traditional candlelit look over a dining table, though the source does not confirm current availability or stock levels.

The chandelier is part of IKEA’s VINTERFINT festive collection, which Ideal Home says was already available to shop when its report was published. The article describes the collection’s lighting as bold and bright, with red tones, and mentions the return of IKEA’s paper stars alongside newer products.

According to the report, the VINTERFINT chandelier is made from steel and finished in red. Its eight candle holders are intended to create a traditional flickering glow. IKEA says the design is easy to wipe clean and compact enough to store after the holiday season. The source does not specify candle dimensions or whether candles are included.

The article identifies Matilda Lindstam Nilsson as the designer. She said her work on the VINTERFINT and STRÅLA collections drew on a traditional Christmas upbringing and aimed to combine nostalgia with a modern feel. The chandelier is presented as one item in a broader decorating roundup, rather than as a newly announced product.

A Low-Cost Candlelit Centrepiece

At £22, the chandelier gives shoppers a comparatively low-cost way to add a decorative focal point to a festive table. Its eight-candle format and red finish distinguish it from ordinary seasonal string lights, while the metal construction may appeal to people seeking a reusable decoration rather than a single-season ornament.

That appeal comes with a practical trade-off: the design uses open-flame candles. Candles can pose a fire risk if left unattended or positioned near decorations, curtains or other combustible materials. Shoppers who prefer to avoid flames could consider the article’s suggested alternatives, including a bulb-lit metal chandelier, a hanging wreath or floating LED candles. The report does not establish how the IKEA product performs in use or whether it is suitable for every ceiling or table setup.

Part of IKEA’s Seasonal Range

The Ideal Home article places the chandelier within IKEA’s wider Christmas offer, which it describes as drawing on Scandinavian festive traditions. It also refers to other compact decorations, including the VINTERFINT peg tree and the LED STRÅLA Christmas tree, as options for people with limited space.

Designer Matilda Lindstam Nilsson said she wanted the VINTERFINT and STRÅLA designs to evoke craftsmanship, nature and Christmas warmth. Her comments provide background on the collection’s intended look, but they are not evidence that the chandelier is handmade or made with wooden elements; the report specifically describes this product as steel.

Ideal Home also lists alternatives from other retailers: an M&S metal chandelier that uses bulbs, a Next artificial wreath and Dunelm floating LED candles. These are presented as shopping suggestions, not as direct product comparisons or verified recommendations based on testing.

“Christmas was celebrated traditionally, and this inspired me when designing my products in the VINTERFINT and STRÅLA collections.”

Stock and Candle Safety Details

The source does not give a publication date for the product’s availability, confirm current price or stock, or say whether the chandelier can be purchased in every IKEA market. The £22 figure is the price stated in the Ideal Home report and may change.

It is also unclear whether candles are supplied, what candle sizes fit, or whether IKEA provides specific instructions on placement and use. The report does not cite product testing or independent safety assessments. Anyone considering it should check the current IKEA product listing and follow its instructions, keeping lit candles attended and away from flammable materials.

Check Current IKEA Product Information

Readers interested in the chandelier should confirm its latest price, availability and product instructions with IKEA before buying. The source does not identify a forthcoming launch date or other scheduled development; the next useful information for shoppers is whether the item remains in stock and what candle requirements IKEA lists.

For anyone choosing a candlelit display, safe positioning and supervision will remain important throughout use. Shoppers who want the look without an open flame can compare the bulb-lit and LED alternatives named in Ideal Home’s roundup.
